26/04/05 Cobreloa and Ind. Medellin win

Cobreloa defeated San Lorenzo 2-0 in the Libertadores Cup.
Two first half goals by Jose Luis Diaz in the desert mining town of Calama sent Cobreloa level on eight points with Mexico's Guadalajara at the top of Group Seven and knocked out San Lorenzo, who have scored only once in five games.

San Lorenzo had Walter Garcia sent off for dissent.

Cobreloa travel to Guadalajara for their final game while champions Once Caldas are away to San Lorenzo.

Nelson Acosta the coach of Cobreloa said before the match that he had agreed terms to replace Juvenal Olmos, who was fired as Chile coach.

Independiente Medellin beat America 2-0 in the all Colombian match to give them a chance of still qualifying for the next stage.

Diego Alvarez opened the scoring at the Atanasio Girardot stadium. David Montoya scored the second with a deflected shot.
